On Friday, June 21, at the premises of the Serbian Association of Managers a business breakfast was held on the subject ” Collateral and their collection as a condition for financial growth of companies “, with the support of USAID Business Enabling Project (BEP). From the legal team of Banca Intesa and Law office Naumovic & Partners, attendees had the opportunity to hear about legal regulations relating to the granting and collection of loans to small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as the about application of aforementioned regulations.
Predrag Ćatić, Director of Legal Affairs in Banca Intesa, with his colleagues, Jelena Vukic Šuljagić and Miljan Malovic presented the legal framework with which it the companies need to become familiar and all in order for companies to know what will be required documentation if they decide to get the loan from a commercial bank. The attorneys introduced present members with various options that are available for companies that have found themselves in the role of a creditor in relationships with other companies.
On the questions of how the settlement is done when the subject of mortgage is facility under construction, whether the creditor has the right to choose when to act according to the Law on pledge of movable assets registered in the Pledge Register or to conduct the settlement proceedings according to the law on Enforcement and Security and on many other questions the answers gave the President of the Supervisory Board SAM, Zoran Naumović and Ivana Zivkovic, a lawyer.
During the business breakfast Dragan Stojanovic, Deputy Head of USAID Business Enabling presented the details of the study “Financing the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises” that this project did last year and wich contain recommendations intended for the Government of Republic of Serbia.
